Barschall Reminiscences

Heinz Barschall was a faculty member at UW, with joint appointments in Physics, Medical Physics, and Nuclear Engineering, from 1946 until his retirement in 1986. He passed away in 1997. Heinz worked on the Manhattan Project, had his lab blown up in the famous Sterling Hall bombing, and was a hero among librarians for his exploration of the costs of scientific journals. He passed along these reminiscences before he retired and I just found them as I was cleaning up my office. Enjoy.
