Project Overview

Our task is to create a device that detects and measures the vasoconstriction phase in sleep apnea, which is a function of pulse transit time. The device will be a software program capable of detecting and measuring changes in pulse transit using an ECG signal and Pulse oximeter signal. The device will interface the current system in use called made by Flaga (Medcare). This algorithm which we develope will be used in sleep studies and should reject incorrect information due to motion artifact.

Project Status

We have met with Steve Weber who is the technical consultant for the sleep lab. He was able to give a good idea of the interface for the Flaga system and a better idea of our task. Our next step is to contact Flaga to get information on the .epf format of the files and exporting data in real time.
