Electroretinogram (ERG) is the measurement of voltage across the retina in response to light flash. The investigator uses a modified system to register voltage across a small piece of retina isolated from mouse.
This project’s goal is to create a system controlled through LabVIEW to monitor, control, and record values from an ERG corresponding to liquid exchange, light intensity, flash duration and frequency, and waveforms. Another goal is to add valve control to allow delivery of up to 8 different liquids into the testing environment. Only one at a time will ever be delivered.
Implications of this product extend to retina research and trial of pharmaceutical lead compounds.
