Redesign a flow system that measures flow rate, partial pressure of O2 and partial pressure of CO2 that uses current measuring devices. The system needs to be compatible with the current cage and equipment design. The pump should pull air through the system as opposed to pushing air. The entire system should not have any significant pressure drops or leaks. A secondary aspect would be to control the fluids inside the animal chamber including water and urine.
5/2-Poster presentations, talked with client and discussed how we are going to be changing projects next semester
4/30-Valves and computer came in, set up most of project for presentation on Friday
4/25-Went to hardware store, and found no four way valves. Will check with Tygon and order as soon as possible.
4/23-Assembled computer software, think that the wrong cables were ordered. Computer has not yet arrived, so we just put together what we could.
4/22-Cut tubing and assembled most of system that we could with the parts that we had. It is set up until right after the cages where we need more 4 way vavles to connect all cages to the pumps. Played with analyzers and got them to work in the right order.
4/14-Met with Calley and discussed what parts need to be ordered for the future. Set up meeting for Friday to come into lab and begin final set up of the project.
4/4-Meet with client and discussed paper, final design and future work. Future work includes implamenting software, ordering parts and putting together final design
3/7-Oral presentation
3/5-Worked on Power point midsemester presentation. Put project together in lab.
Recieved flowmeter, pump and tubing from client. Currently discussing pros and cons of push vs pull system. Meeting with client to discuss systems.
2/28-Research all aspects of project and come up with three design alternatives. Prepare for oral presentation.
