Project Status

The team has officially completed this semester’s worth of work on the design of the protoype (as of 10:00 AM, Friday December 12, 2008).

Project Timeline

Week Reporting Period Beginning Activities
1 September 5 The group conducts preliminary research regarding the design topic and holds a group meeting on Wednesday, September 10, 2008.
2 September 12 The group meets with both the advisor and client on Monday, September 15, 2008. The group also drafts a PDS.
3 September 19 The group begins to brainstorm potential design plans, having drafted a tentative PDS.
4 September 26 The group prepares for the midsemester presentation and report.
5 October 3 The group continues to prepare its midsemester presentation and report.
6 October 10 The group finishes its midsemester report and prepares to start constructing the device.
7 October 17 Having completed its presentation, the group is contacting the client and preparing to construct the device and programming the computer interface.
8 October 24 The group is contacting the client regarding funding and working on the MATLAB user interface, as it prepares to construct the device.
9 October 31 The group is looking for passive infrared cameras on campus while complications with funding pend resolution.
10 November 7 Having received the infrared cameras which were ordered, the group prepares to collect data.
11 November 14 The group has begun testing data point collection and is currently standardizing the procedure.
12 November 21 The group is working on the final design in preparation for the poster session on Friday December 5, 2008.
13 November 28 The group has completed its final presentation (successfully!) and is now working on completing the final deliverables (due Friday December 12, 2008).
