Peripheral intravenous (IV) therapy is used in numerous medical situations to deliver medicine or other fluids directly into a vein. Venous catheters used in these procedures break the skin barrier and prevent the wound from closing, providing an area that can be easily infected. It is important that the IV system is changed every 72 to 96 hours to decrease the chances of infection. A colorimetric time indicator needs to be developed to ensure that the IV system is changed regularly. From left to right: Ali Johnson , Zeyang Li, Nick Anderson, John Cheadle
