University of Wisconsin - Medical School
Department of Oncology
Advisor: Paul Thompson
Date: Sept 6-10, 2002
Problem Statement: To design a device that completes the preparation process done manually to prep a tissue sample for biochemical analysis. The device should freeze the tissue (with liquid nitrogen), grind it to a powder, and collect it in a vial.
Summary of Accomplishments:
1. Group reconvened after the summer off -- all members remained on the project.
2. Client contacted to set up meeting with the group (no word yet as to when
that may be)
3. Started roughly planning the semester and setting goals for our project.
Team Goals for Next Week:
1. Each person should by Friday have thought about what they would like the
group to accomplish by the end of the semester.
2. Planning how we will progress through the semester - what to focus more specially
on (such as the grinding component), and how to divide that among the members
of our group.
Project Schedule:
Week 1: Group chose same project, client was contacted for a meeting.
Difficulties:
I was out of town, so it was a little harder to talk to the group and figure
out what all went on last Friday for this report - but I think Christine filled
me in nicely.
Activities:
Carla: planning goals and how to attack the project
Christine: contacted client, planning goals and how to attack the project
Ryan: planning goals and how to attack the project
Sara: progress report, planning goals and how to attack the project
