The goal of the BME design group is to design and build an inexpensive, portable electroencephalogram EEG (brain wave monitor) that teaches meditation practitioners to achieve optimal meditation by the presence of EEG alpha and theta waves.
A new prototype has been developed involving an analog amplifier that detects cranial potentials. These signals are then processed through digital computer data aquisition and filtering. This model provides visual and audio feedback to a meditation practitioner through a computer user interface.
