Project Overview

Operating the wheelchair platform lift control requires following a correct sequence of tasks. Moving the lever requires a palmar grasp and a range of motion of the upper arm with moderate strength. One-armed operation is essential due to the prevalence of hemiplegia or weakness in persons having recovered from strokes. Also, intuitive operation is necessary since the operator may occasionally be a friend or companion not familiar with the lift.
