Project Overview

The ultimate goal of our project is to design and build an inexpensive, portable electroencephalofram (EEG- brain wave monitor) which provides brain activity feedback to help users to learn how to meditate effectively. This semester, the group will focus on the amplification and filtration of the raw signal obtained by the detection electrodes designed by previos semesters’ groups.

Project Status

The team has settled on which circuit it will build and test. The team has tried to gain access to the electric shop and will build the circuit to test. Testing is occuring according to the plan outlined in the team’s reports.

Design Circuit:

This was the team’s concensus design for the prototype. Building and testing of this circuit was planned. If this circuit provided correct output, this would be incorporated into the design. It was noted by the team that the primary filter did not filter adequately to do anything with the signal and with simple math, a second order filter could be implemented without many extra parts.
