The goal of this project is to design an implantable valve to prevent symptoms of
gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Our design is a cuff that is wrapped around the esophagus
to increase the natural pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter.

| 2 | September 10 | N/A project was cancelled. Needed to find a new project. |
| 3 | September 17 | Received new project and met with client. Assigned research areas for each team member. |
| 4 | September 24 | Attended team building lecture and discussed team dynamics. Reviewed compiled research. |
| 5 | October 1 | Drafted design ideas in two-person teams, continued research. |
| 6 | October 8 | Presented designs to class, client and advisors. Assigned roles for completing the mid-semester paper. |
| 7 | October 15 | Drafted small team design sections separately and wrote the rest of the paper as a group. A final decision was made to focus all efforts towards the valve design. |
| 8 | October 22 | Met with Dr. Goud, which provided new information on the reality of potential designs. Re-evaluated previously chosen final design. |
| 9 | October 29 | Gathered new ideas for design and decided on a new design that is based on a pressure cuff. |
| 10 | November 5 | Lecture on Intellectual Property. Began to gather materials for the prototype and brainstormed how they will fit together. |
| 11 | November 12 | Discussed work done on prototype and began to update our final report. |
| 12 | November 19 | Gathered materials for prototype and began to assemble it. |
| 13 | November 26 | Continued work on prototype and made some adjustments to the final design. |
| 14 | December 3 | Finished the prototype, created poster presentation and delivered presentation |
| 15 | December 10 | Completed paper, updated PDS, filled out evaluations and held final advisor meeting. |
