Project Overview

For many diabetes patients, administering daily insulin injections is a daunting task. The process of filling a syringe with the proper amount of insulin and injecting the medication at a steady rate requires the user to possess fairly fine motor control and visual acuity. These skills are frequently lacking in the elderly and people afflicted with Parkinson’s or other neuromuscular disorders.

The aim of this project is to create a device that automates the measuring, filling, and injecting of medication using a standard 1 cc syringe. The device will be low-cost, easy to use, and accurately measure medication to 0.01 cc.
