Project Overview

We have created a system that intergrates seperate input and display designs. When implemented, this system will enable a user who is mobility, visually, and aurally impaired to both place and recieve telephone calls. Our program has the capacity to store at least 100 phone numbers and is easy to update and edit.

Project Status

We have finished creating our software program that will serve as interactive phonebook for the user which enables the user to place telephone calls. We have finished constructing the housing unit for our controller that will operate the program and have placed final touches on this controller. The last thing we need to do is install the program in our patient’s room.

1 January 20 Formed team and assigned team roles, contacted client and set up client meeting
2 January 27 Contacted client and set up meeting, begain research
3 February 3 Met with client, assembled PDS, posted team photo on web site, continued research
4 February 10 Made onsite visit to patient, ran various test to assess patients needs, met with Trace Center, brainstormed potential designs
5 February 17 Decided on three possible input and output designs, worked on midsemester presentation
6 February 24 Presented our project and potential designs during class, analyzed designs, worked on midsemester report
7 March 3 Choose best input and output design, submit mid-semester report, submit design notebooks
8 March 10 Worked on program
9 March 17 Worked on program
10 March 24 Tested Program, Purchased materials for input
11 March 31 Made Changes to Program, started adding phonelist
12 April 7 Worked on creating housing unit for input and finalizing program
13 April 14 Submited final design report, completed controller, finished adding phonelist, and added voice clips
14 April 21 Added final touches to controller, prepared for poster presentation and submited design notebooks, installed program in our patients house
15 April 28 Final meeting with advisor
