Project Statement: To design a device that can constantly monitor the pH levels of the bathing medium for bovine embryos inside an incubator. This device cannot alter the incubator in any way. It must also be able to accurately measure the pH within tenths of a pH level.

Project Schedule: Week Date Design Activities
Week 1 (1/31) Meet with client
Week 2 (2/2 - 2/9) Gather research
Week 3 (2/9 - 2/16) Gather more research and ask client questions
Week 4 (2/16 - 2/23) Come up with ideas for design and write outline
Week 5 (2/23 - 3/2) Complete the Report and Slides for the Presentation
Week 6 (3/2 - 3/9) Meet with the client and discuss our design ideas
Week 7 (3/9 - 3/23) Break into small groups to begin final design
Week 8 (3/23 - 3/30) Meet with client, form list of needed items and break into small groups for the building phase
Week 9 (3/30 - 4/6) Design stand, begin writing paper, talk to companies about ordering parts
Week 10 (April 6) Stand group continued to design stand, companies contacted, paper started
Week 11 (April 13) Stand group finalized the design, talked to Bill at the shop. Client meeting to finalize the ordering of the probe. Paper group started getting specifics from the different groups, researching ethics.
Week 12 (April 20) NO CLASS - ENGINEERING EXPO; continued
individual work in groups.
Week 13 (April 27) Finalize design, building stand, initial testing, put together slides for presentation.
Week 14 (May 4) FINAL PRESENTATIONS; PAPER DUE
Week 15 (May 11) Final Meeting with Advisor: Friday 12:30pm
Week 16 (May 14-18) DONE!
