Research Topic: Currently, I am working in the neutronics group on Monte Carlo modeling of fusion systems including module 7 and 13 in ITER. In particular, determining nuclear heating and damage parameters for design analysis. Previously I did work for Medical Physics applications. This included Monte Carlo modeling of well type ionization chambers and low energy photon sources for prostate brachytherapy. Additionally, I did work on Monte Carlo transport applications for a variety of medical radiation sources, shields, and detectors. I also was the primary system administrator for the Medical Physics portion of the GLOW (condor based) computer cluster. This replaced a now retired Beowulf computer cluster which I built. Before this photon and electron Monte Carlo work, I worked on neutron transport for neutron therapy facilities in support of the PEREGRINE project. As a graduate student, I worked on discrete ordinates based neutron transport for vessel embrittlement and nuclear power plant life extension. See my resume for more info.
