Research Interests

I am working in the area of operations research applied to health care. My primary research interests include: decision analysis, simulation modeling, artificial intelligence, medical informatics, data mining, and stochastic optimization.

My Ph.D. dissertation involves the development of (1) Optimal Biopsy Decision Making (OBDM) model – a Markov Decision Processes (MDP) based model to aid radiologists in the clinical management of patients. (2) Breast Cancer Risk Estimator (B-CARE) model – a quantitative breast cancer risk estimation model using Bayesian networks, artificial neural networks, and logistic regression. This model can be used to interpret mammographic findings and quantify the risk of breast cancer of a woman.
