For unbeaten teams, the only game that matters is the victory over their strongest opponent. Nebraska's strongest opponent was Tennesee and Michigan's strongest opponent was Washington St. Tennesee's rating is based on the loss to Florida and the wins over Georgia, UCLA and Auburn. Washington State's rating is base on the loss to Arizona State and the wins over UCLA, Washington, Southern Cal., Oregon and Arizona.
A team's rating is the average of its opponents' ratings plus 100 for a win or minus 100 for a loss excluding wins that would lower the rating and losses that would raise the rating. Post-season games count double. These ratings are in the public domain and may be freely published.
