The rankings and predictions on this site are based on a computer program written several years ago by myself, Brent M. Craig. I am an attorney that just does this for fun. I love college football. I do not gamble. I do the ATS (against the spread picks) to see how the program is doing.
The program places a great deal of emphasis on schedule difficulty--looking at not only a team's opponents, but its opponents' opponents. Further, the computer considers the conference of which the team is associated. Naturally, a team's won-loss record is considered, as is the margin of victory and where the games were played. There is a cap on the margin of victory, so blow outs are not beneficial for the victor. More emphasis is placed on more recent games, as opposed to games played early in the season. Teams are given a preseason rating (which is subjective to a degree). However, the computer slowly "forgets" that rating as the season progresses. By mid-season, the computer has completely "forgotten" the preseason rating and teams are objectively rated and ranked entirely on this year's performance.
Predictions are for entertainment purposes only.
