Investigation of the implementation of a 2nd order fixed point IIR
filter on the Atmel
AVR line of microcontrollers.  Investigation of algorithm implementation
on the
AT90S8535 (without hardware multiplier) and implementation on the
ATMega163 (with hardware multiplier).

Analyze and discuss the CodevisionAVR compilers implementation of
fixed-point multiplication pertaining to the IIR filter implementation.

Propose, test, and discuss methods to optimize the filter implementation
on both target processors.
