Title: OPTIMIZING WAVELET BASED IMAGE COMPRESSION FOR TMS320C6x DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSOR. Project by: Rattapoom Vudhichamnong Suman Mamidi Goal of the project: Our goal is to optimize the wavelet transform algorithm implemented in C for maximizing performance on the TMS320C6x DSP architecture. In this project, various aspects of wavelet transform implementation, DSP processor architecture, code development flow and optimization methodology are studied. The wavelet compression algorithm is then implemented, profiled and optimized to fit the parallel-processing architecture of the DSP processor and resources available on EVM board. Finally, the improvements are reported and the effectiveness of improvement methodology is justified.
