| Feb7 to Feb 11 | On Friday, February 10, Team R made its second visit to the project site, Pleasant Company. While there, the team members took turns observing and participating in the assembly line. The team also met with Pleasant Company contacts where they were given three different handouts on the company, including plant layout, a description of the 8 different assembly line steps, web page information and also three product samples to be used as references. On Sunday, February 13, the team met to do the initial project proposal. The proposal will be sent for review on Monday to our contact person at Pleasant Company. After approval by the Pleasant Company, the proposal will be presented to the IE 476 class on Tuesday, February 15th. | ||
| Feb 14 to Feb 20 | On February 15, Team R gave their initial proposal to the class. Then the team met on Wednesday February 16th the team met to discuss ideas and possible solutions for Pleasant Company's Project. Each member of the group was then assigned a company to contact for best practices and a meeting with Pleasant Company's Middleton location is setup for Friday February 25. | ||
| Feb 21 to Feb 27 | In their research for best practices, Team R made their first visit to Pleasant Company's Middleton's site on Friday, February 25. The team continues to research and look into other company's for possible best practice examples. Coming up on Monday, February 28, Team R plans to meet with Pat Rebholz, Pleasant Company's Staff Engineer, to discuss current list of possible solutions/designs | ||
| Feb 28 to March 5 | On Monday February 28, Team R met with Pat Rebholz, staff engineer of Pleasant Company to discuss and present possible solutions and drawings for the project. Team R then met on Tuesday February 29 and went over data gathered for best practices. During the meeting, the team, following Pat's suggestion, made sketches of variable layouts for the doll line. The team met again on Sunday, March 5, where they prepared their PowerPoint presentation on best practices, which will be presented to the class on Tuesday March 7. | ||
| March 6 to March 12 | On Monday March 6, Team R met again with Pat Rebholz, to discuss and revise the possible solutions and drawings for the project. More detailed drawings are needed as a result of this meeting. On Tuesday March 7, Team R presented Best Practices Presentation to the class. Web page is evaluated on this day also. Their Best Practices presentation has not been approved by Pleasant Company thus was not downloaded onto our web page. Wednesday March 8: approval from Pleasant Company of our Best Practices presentation is yet to be received. Team members excitedly wait for the upcoming Spring Break. | ||
| March 13 to March 19 | The long awaited Spring Break has come. | ||
| March 20 to March 26 | On Tuesday March 21, Team R reconvened after a long week of break to revise and evaluate designs. Design sketches will be posted on the web as soon as they are made available. Then, Team R met with Pat Reholz on the following Friday March 24, at Pleasant Company, Middleton Site to go over the designs before presenting them to management. Presentation to management is schedule on the following Monday of March 26 at Pleasant Company, DeForest Site. | ||
| March 27 to April 2 | On Monday March 27, Team R presented their drawn up solutions to the management of Pleasant Company, at the De Forest Location. On Tuesday March 28, Team R gave the same presentation, to the employees of the doll line, at Pleasant Company in De Forest. The team received valuable feedback from both parties and is now working on incorporating the inputs received into their final design. | April 3 to April 9 | Team R met on Tuesday, April 4, to discuss the results of their presentations to Pleasant Company's staff and to divide upcoming tasks amongst each other. Each group member chose a task to work on; after the meeting, the group members communicated through e-mail. | tr>April 10 to April 16 | On Tuesday, April 11, Team R presented their progress report to the class. Then, on Thursday, April 13, the team met to discuss requirements for their final drawings and report. Assignments were divided among the group members and a meeting is setup for Monday, April 17. |
| April 17 to April 23 | Team R met on Monday, April 17 at the Mechanical Engineering lobby to compile materials for the draft of the final report. The cost analysis part of the report is still in process. The draft of the final report is sent to Pat Rebholz for revision. Team R set up a meeting with Pat Reholz on Monday, April 24 at 1 PM at Pleasant Company, Middleton Site to get feedback on their report. They are also waiting for confirmation on their final presentation date to Pleasant Company on Friday, April 28. | ||
| April 24 to April 30 | Team R met with Pat Rebholz on Monday April 24 at Pleasant Company, Middleton site to discuss final revision of the final report. A few revisions were needed and Team R met again the next day to finalize report. On Friday April 28, Team R gave a final presentation of the project to Pleasant Company and submitted the final report. | ||
| May 1 to May 7 | Team R reviewed the final presentation to be presented to class on Tuesday May 9 at Union South. Final details are taken care of, and Team R is almost done with the senior design project. | ||
| May 8 to May 14 | Team R will be presenting their final presentation on May 9, 2000 at 4:00PM at Union South. Team members are to refer to TITU for room assignment at Union South. Final report is also due on May 9, 2000. | ||
