Len Behr is a high school science teacher who coordinates the Authentic Science Research program for New York and arranges the summer teacher workshops. Behr will describe this successful program that has been in place in New York State for several years. Over 130 schools in New York have implemented this program to enable high school students to do authentic science research. After a series of training workshops in the summer, teachers and students begin a three year program to explore and choose a topic of interest, contact scientists, engage in research, and present the research at various venues. Behr will explain how you can bring this program to your high school.
