About Me

My name is Lin Xie, and I was born in August 1981 in Fuyang, Anhui Province. I obtained my B.E. and M.E. degree both in Electrical Engineering in Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in June 2003 and March 2006, respectively. I am now pursuing my PhD study under the supervision of Dr. Azadeh Davoodi in WISCAD Laboratory, University of Wisconsin at Madison.

My current research interest lies in variability driven electronics design automation in VLSI circuits. My first project in this area is Fast and Accurate Statistical Static Timing Analysis (SSTA). Now, my research projects are Robust SSTA and Design Automation for post-fabrication tunability and adaptability in the presence of variations.

Research Interests

My research interests fall in:

  • Variability driven electronic design automation in VLSI circuit design
  • PHY, MAC, and Networking layer design for wireless relay networks
  • Low power VLSI circuit design, especially in the bus encoding methods
  • High-level synthesis for low power; Scheduling/allocation for power/area/timing
  • Coding techniques in video communication, especially in H.264

The publications can be found here.
