Who I am


I am starting my fifth year of Ph.D. study at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in University of Wisconsin - Madison under the advisory of professor Irena Knezevic.

Originally I come from Xi'an, China. I take pride in my culture and embrace everything I experience here (including the WINTER!).

What I am up to

I am interested in thermal transport in semiconductor materials where Phonons are the primary heat carriers. I developed a 2D semiclassical Monte Carlo kernel which accurately captures the thermal transport of graphene and graphene nanoribbons. I also developed a simple model for calculating the extremely-anisotropic thermal conductivity tensor of III-V superlattices. I worked on coupling the electrical and thermal transport in the simulation of Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs). Currently I am working on atomistic simulations of ultralow thermal conductivity of InAlAs alloys and coupling photons into the coupled electrothermal QCL simulator.
