Overview
The objective of ME 342 (Design of Machine Elements) is
to introduce you to the fundamentals of mechanical engineering design.
The course is divided into two parts:
Part 1: In part-1, we shall review force balance, stress and strain
analysis, and then cover the fundamentals of failure analysis.
Part 2: In part-2 you will apply the theory from Part-2 toward the
analysis of a mechanical components such as shafts, bearings, gears, etc.
