Laurie and I decided to skip one of our "Best Irish Walks" in favour of a few hours horseback riding through the Black Valley. Our interesting guide, Gene, gave us some of the history of the Black Valley. It is one of the most remote in Ireland, with electricity only available throughout the valley for about 20 years. This remoteness leads to many wonderful views. While the first photo below was not taken from horseback, the bottom two were!
